Our mission…transforming the ordinary into a timeless oasis of relaxed luxury…
Client trust…
Both Harper and Myla Douglas are excited about getting their entertainment room transformation underway. They envision a fresh, timeless design where they can relax and entertain family and friends. By the time Dennese left the Douglas home last week, she had acquired their trust and buy in for the room plans that she had presented. They were comfortable enough to suggest that they dispense with the formalities and resort to their first names, Harper and Myla.
The couple had taken the initiative and emptied the room except for a medium sized round table and three chairs where Dennese could layout their design plan and her samples. The sofa table was left in the room to hold design materials. The large paint samples that Dennese had left them last week were still affixed to the wall in the room. Myla had a couple of design magazines turned back to pages showing glass display shelves that she wanted to discuss with Dennese. Both Harper and Myla were looking forward to discussing next steps and what furniture finds Dennese had selected when she visited the High Point Furniture Market (HPMKT).
Show Time…
When Dennese arrived with her junior designer, Jacqueline, they brought photos of a variety of furnishings from quality manufacturers including: Century, Bernhardt, Currey and Company, Global Views, Vanguard Furniture, Theodore Alexander, John Richard, Arteriors and Sonder Living.
Clients “All in”…
This is the fun part of designing…the collaborative selection of the hard furnishings for the room. They began with the seating… sofa and chairs. The couple opted for neutral tones for the sofa upholstery. The Douglas color pallet includes blues and grays with accents of orange and some warmer shades of white. Dennese discussed how the accent colors could be introduced to complement the room. Next it was end tables, cocktail table and other accent furniture. It was evident that Myla was “all in” by her keen interest in the furniture options and the utility of the tables relative to the seating. Harper was more subdued enjoying his wife’s enthusiasm and attention to every detail of the room.
Take up the floor and roll the paint…
The furniture selections were important since certain pieces had to be ordered. The next selection for this meeting was the paint color for the room and trim. Dennese had her painters on notice to paint the room. Harper and Myla had decided that they wanted the large foyer painted the same color as their new entertainment room. Their final decision to discuss at this meeting was changing the flooring…the existing hardwood flooring had a dated pattern and updated flooring would add tremendously to the richness of the new room. Dennese had also brought along flooring samples anticipating the discussion. Decisions, decisions…make for a great meeting!!
